PreFast has delivered a complete building designed to supplement an existing British research station on Bird Island, Antarctica.

“We’ve delivered all building parts – a complete building, in other words,” relates Stefan Nilsson, CEO. “The building comprised a storeroom and workshop, as well as a gym for the staff. This spectacular assignment was then shipped to Antarctica, a journey of several weeks.”

“The project on Antarctica was our second truly spectacular commission. Bird Island is actually even farther away than Tristan da Cunha. On the previous assignment, PreFast had to make allowance for earthquakes and extreme wind conditions; the main issue this time was to deal with the waves on the sea during the transportation of the building modules.”
